Impela (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a product of BridgeValue Consulting LLC, provides an AI-powered personal coaching platform (the “Service”) designed to help you set goals, build commitments, identify behavioral patterns, and grow in the areas of life that matter most to you. We understand that using this Service requires you to share deeply personal information — your aspirations, challenges, relationships, and reflections.
We treat that trust as sacred. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what information we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and — critically — what we will never do with it. We encourage you to read this policy in its entirety.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to deliver and improve the Service. This includes:
2.1 Account Information
- Name, email address, and password (encrypted)
- Phone number (if you opt in to SMS notifications)
- Industry and professional context (optional)
2.2 Coaching Conversations
- All messages exchanged between you and your AI coach, including text content, timestamps, and session metadata
- Intake questionnaire responses used to personalize your coaching experience
- Response review and synthesis conversations that shape your coaching plan
2.3 Personal Profile Data
- Demographic information you provide (age, location, relationship status, education)
- Personality and behavioral assessments derived from your coaching interactions (e.g., communication style, decision-making patterns, energy patterns)
- Personal values, strengths, and growth areas identified through coaching
- Life domain assessments (career, relationships, health, finances, personal growth)
2.4 Goals, Commitments, and Plans
- Goals you set, including descriptions, target dates, progress, motivations, success measures, and obstacles
- Visions and long-term aspirations
- Commitments and action items, including due dates, completion status, and reflection notes
- Milestones and follow-up schedules
2.5 Relationship Information
- Names and relationship types of people you discuss in coaching (e.g., manager, partner, mentor)
- Contextual notes about those relationships, communication dynamics, and relationship goals
- Feedback survey data, if you choose to request feedback from others
2.6 Behavioral Patterns and Insights
- Behavioral, emotional, relational, and cognitive patterns identified through your coaching journey
- Coaching memories and contextual insights stored to improve session continuity
2.7 Documents and Artifacts
- Documents you upload (resumes, assessments, feedback reports, strategic plans)
- AI-generated artifacts such as frameworks, action plans, decision matrices, and preparation sheets
2.8 Notification and Preference Data
- Your notification preferences (email, SMS) and timing settings
- Notification delivery logs (type, channel, delivery status — not message content)
2.9 Technical Data
- Session timing and performance metrics to maintain Service quality
- We do not use third-party analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or behavioral profiling cookies
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to provide, personalize, and improve your coaching experience. Specifically:
- Deliver personalized coaching: Your profile, conversation history, goals, and patterns are used to tailor AI coaching sessions to your specific needs, personality, and growth trajectory.
- Maintain continuity: We store memories and context so your coaching experience builds on itself over time rather than starting from scratch each session.
- Send notifications you request: Commitment reminders, progress summaries, and re-engagement nudges are sent only through channels you explicitly enable.
- Generate insights: Behavioral patterns and life domain assessments are derived from your interactions to surface meaningful coaching insights.
- Improve the Service: Aggregated, de-identified technical performance data (never conversation content) may be used to improve system reliability and response quality.
4. What We Will Never Do With Your Information
We make the following unequivocal commitments:
- We will never sell your personal information to any third party, for any reason, under any circumstances.
- We will never share your coaching conversations, goals, patterns, or personal insights with advertisers, data brokers, employers, insurers, or any other third party.
- We will never use your personal information for advertising or marketing purposes beyond communicating with you about the Service itself.
- We will never train general-purpose AI models on your private coaching data. Your conversations are yours.
- We will never create a profile about you for sale or external use. All profile data exists solely to serve your coaching experience.
- We will never disclose your information to your employer, colleagues, family members, or anyone else without your explicit, informed, and voluntary consent — except as required by law (see Section 7).
5. Accountability Partners and Third-Party Sharing
Impela allows you to designate accountability partners — trusted individuals who may receive limited information about your progress, such as commitment status updates or feedback requests. This feature is entirely optional and operates under strict conditions:
- You choose who receives information. No information is shared with any accountability partner unless you explicitly identify that person and authorize the specific information to be shared.
- Partners must opt in. Accountability partners will not receive any messages, progress updates, or feedback requests unless they independently acknowledge and agree to abide by this Privacy Policy. Mere designation by you is not sufficient — the partner must actively consent.
- Partners receive only what you authorize. Accountability partners will never have access to your full coaching history, conversation content, personal profile, behavioral patterns, or any information beyond what you have expressly chosen to share.
- You can revoke access at any time. Removing an accountability partner immediately and permanently terminates their access to any of your information.
- Partners are bound by confidentiality. By opting in, accountability partners agree to treat any information they receive as confidential and to use it solely for the purpose of supporting your stated goals.
Outside of accountability partners you explicitly designate, your personal information is never shared with any individual or organization.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security).
- Encryption at rest: Sensitive data, including passwords, is cryptographically hashed and stored in encrypted databases.
- Access controls: Access to user data is restricted to essential service operations. No human at Impela reads your coaching conversations unless you explicitly request support assistance and grant permission.
- Infrastructure security: Our Service is hosted on industry-leading cloud infrastructure with enterprise-grade security certifications.
- Regular security reviews: We conduct periodic security assessments to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
While no system can guarantee absolute security, we are committed to protecting your information with the same rigor we would expect for our own most sensitive personal data.
7. Legal Disclosure Requirements
We may disclose your information only when we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is required to:
- Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request
- Protect the safety of any person, including to prevent imminent harm or risk of death
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of Impela, our users, or the public as required by law
If we receive a legal demand for your data, we will notify you before disclosing unless we are legally prohibited from doing so. We will challenge overbroad or unlawful requests.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data belongs to you. We retain your information only for as long as your account is active and you continue to use the Service.
- Account deletion: You may delete your account at any time from your Settings page. Upon deletion, all of your personal data — including your profile, coaching conversations, goals, commitments, patterns, memories, documents, artifacts, and notification history — is permanently and irreversibly erased from our systems.
- No shadow profiles: We do not retain hidden copies of your data after deletion. When you delete your account, your data is gone.
- Selective deletion: You may delete individual coaching sessions, goals, people, documents, or other records at any time without deleting your entire account.
- Inactive accounts: We may send re-engagement notifications to inactive accounts based on your notification preferences. We do not delete inactive accounts without notice.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data: View all information we hold about you through the Service interface.
- Correct your data: Update or correct any inaccurate personal information at any time.
- Delete your data: Permanently delete your account and all associated data.
- Control notifications: Enable, disable, or modify notification channels and timing at any time.
- Control coaching features: Opt out of pattern detection, memory storage, and other coaching features through your Settings.
- Export your data: Request a copy of your data by contacting us at privacy@bridgevalueconsulting.com.
10. AI and Automated Processing
Impela uses artificial intelligence to provide coaching. This means your inputs are processed by AI models to generate personalized responses, identify patterns, and create coaching artifacts. Important details:
- AI processing is core to the Service. Your coaching conversations are processed by AI to deliver meaningful, contextual coaching guidance.
- No autonomous decisions with material consequences. The AI does not make decisions about your employment, creditworthiness, insurance, or any other consequential matter. All coaching suggestions are advisory in nature.
- Conversation context is session-bounded. Your conversation data is used to maintain context within and across your coaching sessions. It is not used to train or improve third-party AI models.
- You control what you share. The AI only processes information you voluntarily provide. You are never required to answer any question or share any detail you are uncomfortable with.
11. Cookies and Tracking
We use only essential cookies required for the Service to function (authentication, session management). We do not use:
- Third-party analytics or tracking cookies
- Advertising or retargeting pixels
- Cross-site tracking technologies
- Browser fingerprinting
12. Children's Privacy
Impela is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 18, we will promptly delete that information.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through a prominent notice within the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
